When the packaging is opened, oxygen will mix with the food, resulting in a reduction of taste and scent. The speed with which the taste and scent reduce is dependent on the preservation circumstances. Always keep an opened packaging in a cool, dark and dry place.
To keep the food fresh as long as possible, TROVET advises to take out portions for a few days and keep this in a container. The packaging will only be opened once or twice a week, which minimises the amount of oxygen that can enter the packaging.
Shelf life
It is not possible to give an exact period for how long the food can be preserved after opening the packaging. TROVET advises you to empty one bag in 1.5 to 2 months. TROVET does not guarantee a long preservation time after opening and there is the possibility of spoiling.
For wet food: when the packaging has been opened, the product can be stored in the refrigerator up till two days. It is also possible to divide in daily portions and put these in the freezer. Do not freeze it in the original packaging, due to expansion of the product.
